Business Consulting services

Five core services, each designed to solve a specific problem. Pick the one that fits, or combine several into a single engagement.

Financial planning and analysis

Many companies we meet have no rolling forecast. They rely on year-end accounts that arrive months after the fact. We change that by building a 12-month rolling cash-flow model your team can update weekly in a standard spreadsheet.

The model tracks revenue by product or service line, maps fixed versus variable costs, and flags months where cash drops below a safety threshold you set. During the engagement we also audit your current margins, line by line, to find leaks.

  • 12-month rolling cash-flow forecast
  • Margin analysis by product or service line
  • Monthly management dashboard (Google Sheets or Excel)
  • Staff training session so your team can maintain the model

Typical duration: four to six weeks.

Operational restructuring

We walk the floor, literally. Our consultants spend the first week observing how work moves through your business, from the moment a customer places an order to the moment it is delivered and invoiced. We document every handoff, every approval step, and every queue.

Then we redesign. Redundant sign-offs get removed. Manual data entry that could be automated gets flagged. Roles are clarified so people stop duplicating effort. The result is a set of new standard operating procedures, tested during the engagement, with your staff already trained on them.

  • End-to-end process mapping (as-is and to-be)
  • Bottleneck identification with time-cost estimates
  • Redesigned workflows and written SOPs
  • On-site staff training and shadowing

Typical duration: six to ten weeks.

Growth strategy

If you are thinking about entering a new market, launching a product, or acquiring a competitor, you need a business case that holds up under scrutiny. Banks, investors, and boards all ask the same questions: what is the addressable market, what are the unit economics, and when does it break even?

We build that case with you. We research the market, model the financials, stress-test the assumptions, and write a document your audience can trust. Two clients used our business cases to secure a combined £3.2m in growth funding last year.

  • Market sizing and competitor analysis
  • Financial model with three scenarios (base, upside, downside)
  • Written business case (typically 15 to 25 pages)
  • Presentation deck for board or investor meetings

Typical duration: four to eight weeks.

Sales process design

Sales teams without a defined process rely on individual talent. That works until your top performer leaves. We design a repeatable sales process that covers lead qualification, proposal structure, follow-up cadence, and pipeline tracking.

We also set up a simple CRM configuration (we work with HubSpot, Pipedrive, or whatever you already use) so every deal stage is visible to management. The goal is a pipeline you can forecast from, not just a list of names.

  • Sales process map with defined stages and exit criteria
  • CRM setup or reconfiguration
  • Proposal and pricing templates
  • Sales team workshop (half day, on-site)

Typical duration: three to five weeks.

Monthly advisory retainer

Some clients want ongoing support after a project ends. Our monthly retainer gives you a fixed number of consulting hours each month, a standing monthly call with a senior consultant, and priority access when urgent questions come up.

Retainer clients also get a quarterly business review where we revisit KPIs, check progress against the action plan, and adjust priorities. Think of it as having a part-time strategy director without the full-time salary.

  • 8 or 16 hours of consulting time per month
  • Monthly strategy call (60 minutes, video or in person)
  • Quarterly business review with written report
  • Priority response within four working hours

Minimum commitment: three months.

How every engagement unfolds

Regardless of which service you choose, the process follows the same five steps. This keeps things predictable for both sides.

1. Discovery call

A 30-minute phone or video call where you describe the problem and we ask questions. No charge, no obligation. By the end we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

2. Two-day diagnostic

We visit your premises (or work remotely if preferred), interview key people, and review financial and operational data. This costs £800 plus VAT and is credited against the project fee if you proceed.

3. Proposal and scope agreement

Within five working days of the diagnostic we deliver a written proposal: the problems we found, the work we recommend, the timeline, and the fixed fee. You review it, ask questions, and sign when ready.

4. Delivery

Our consultant works on-site two to three days a week (or remotely by agreement). You receive weekly progress updates and can raise concerns at any point. Milestones trigger payments as agreed in the proposal.

5. Handover and follow-up

We deliver all documentation, train your staff, and schedule the 90-day follow-up review. The project closes when you confirm satisfaction with the deliverables.
